Starting this past fall, I was enrolled into a perspectives class at Kennedy. One of the main assignments all year was to keep this blog site going and keep it updated. I did try my best to keep this updated as much as possible, but I kept running into the problem of not having anything to talk about also fallowing my question. Finally I found out that I do not have to stay on the topic that I first picked, but that I could write about what ever I wanted to. So all happy about that, I got on here to blog, and got to thinking, and crap nothing came to mind to write about. At that point there was pretty much nothing exiting going on in my life. So as time went on, I had more and more to write about. But I still wasn't writing enough to keep my grade passing. Than Spring break came around and that gave me something to talk about. Not that I did anything, but because I found out that were moving. So that gave me a writable topic for a while. But than I ended up right back where I am right now.
This blog site has been nice to have because it has been a way to get stuff out of my system, kind of like someone to talk to, without actually having to talk to someone. I didn't really like that we are graded on this blog, because of the point that, not always do I have something to talk about. I have never really been big on sharing my life or my feelings, but having this blog site has helped me with that. If I could rewind and start this blog all over with a new grade, I would try harder, and get a better grade. Lets just hope that I pass this class for what I have tried my best on.

The Move/missing
Earlier I was talking about a move to North Carolina, and I was saying how I did not want to go. But lately I have been thinking about it and it came to mind, I might like going there for a year. It will be hard laeaving my friends, leaving my girlfriend, but most of all, it will be hard leaving my brothers curt and chris. They like life here so they won't be going down with us. If I had a choice, I would love to join them in staying back here.
Curt has had my back all my life, sometimes when I don't need it. Hes always been quick on asking me if I want to join him in pretty much whatever he does. Every weekend hes the one to ask if I can go to dance mor with him. Around halloween, he was quick to jump the gun to ask me to go to the haunted corn field with him and his friends, which I will say that one of them thoughts I was older and started flirting with me. Hell, even when she found out I was younger than her, that never stopped her. But I'm not complaining. So Curt will be greatly missed by me.
Than there is Chris. He's also like curt in ways of inviting me along and having my back. When he sees me bored sitting at home, or sees in my face that I'm having life issues. He's always quick to get me out of the house and get my mind off what ever it is on. My dad has been diabled for awhile now. Even though he don't really like to show it, and still does things that, later on, he knows hell be hurting for. I have never got to have the privlage to hunt with him, but does that stop me, no. And why not? Cause Chris is always there to take me hunting with him. Now it's almost were like a team, non of us two hunt without the other. Over the last 5 years of my hunting life I'v only gone twice without him. Over the last 5 years we have grown to our own hunting tactics. When Chris knows I'm in a bind, he is also quick to help me. Awhile ago, I took this girl to the movies with me and him, and at the time that was my girlfriend. And we had a good time up until the movie got over and we were walking out to the trucks, and a girl and a group of her friends the didnt get along with my girlfriend. So they walked up behind her to egg on a fight. So I rushed her out to the truck and locked her in, than me and chris went to straighten things out with out violence, well that didnt help. the point of this story is that if chris wasnt there, I would have been left hanging alone.
There will be alot that I will miss, but It'll be a good expierence for me to get away from Iowa for a while. I leave on June 27, 2009. I'm ganna end this posts and if there are any questions or comments, please feel free to leave one and I will respond on my next post. Thanks and have a wonderful day.

Long Day....Great Ending
Yesterday, after I got out of school, I went home to work on my car. I drive a 1994 mercury topaz. we like to call it a ford topaz because its been wrecked so many times, it has a ton of parts on it from a ford tempo. Lately it has been putting along only when I accelerate, it idles like its fine. Or when you first start it up and rev up rpm a little bit, you can see the black smoke coming out to the exhaust. You can smell the its burning rich. I tried to change all spark plugs and wires, and got nothing. yesterday I went and bought a new fuel filter, because when I took the old one off, it we extremely clogged. And again that didn't help. So I drove to the auto parts store and got carb cleaner and fuel injector cleaner. I took the air manifold off rev up the rpm again and let that suck in some carb cleaner. But that did not help. So thinking someone put something in my gas tank. I put fuel injector cleaner in it, and as of now that helped none whats so ever. But on top of all of this, my Cadillac converter dropped down and was kinda dragging on the ground, it didn't break, just unhooked. So I went and got some plumbers wire, I put a car jack under the converter and raised it up and tied it higher. After that I got a little exited because after spending all day working on this car, I thought I had fixed something. But then it came time to drive it. At that time I had figured out that I raised the Cadillac converter up to high and I raised it into the clutch. So now when I drive it, the clutch is a little bit harder to shift. After all of this, my girlfriend stops by to tell me her kid is sick so I went with her to take him to the doctor. When that got over, I ended my day the way everyman would want to. I went fishing.

The Big Move
About a month ago my parents took spring break off and went down to North Carolina, as what I thought of for a vacation. But they came back with the good news of buying a new house. The first thing that popped in my head was what about my life here. So I said that to my mother and all she could say back was the normal "oh but there will be so many more oppertunities there". I really do not want to move. Even though my parents are heat freaks, I on the other hand do not mind the cold. I have everything here I want here in Iowa. I have my family, I have my friends, and I have my wonderful girlfriend Melissa. Not to mention the awsome hunting and fishing we have here.
But even though I do not want to go, I know that getting my education in high school would be much easier there. I'll be right around four different nascar tracks. And there is bear and cougar hunting which I will do. Aside of deep sea fishing. The property we have is a total of 10 acres with woods. It is the kind of enviorment I would want to live in, but I dont want to live there without the people I love the most.

FISHING
I finally got the chance to grap my poles and fish. I was told that Northern Pike were down already, and a great spot to go to catch those is the 5-1 damns. So after a while I got my girlfriend to get down there after her CPR cirtification class for school. I wasn't catching much, just a few little ones here and there. For about 45 minutes I sat there waiting and hoping for a bite and yet nothing.
After sitting there in bordium for a while, I thought it would be funny to kinda get rocks, grabbed it out of the water only to see that the fish was a 12 lbs flathead catfish. It was not northern pike like what I was hopeing for, but still, it was a big fish.my brother Chris's heart going, so I slightly kicked his pull. And of course, he dove for it, only to find out that that was not bite but yet me kickin the pole. So to get me back, he kicked my pole over and he said "now if your pole stands up, you know you have a bite". And not even joking, just a few seconds after that was said. My pole stood up on the railing. So I grabbed my pole, gave it a jerk, and started realing in.
After about 45 minutes or so of fighting the fish in. I brought it up to the the rocks to see that it was not a northern pike like what I was hopeing for, but a 12 lb flathead catfish. I still got a good fish and had a hell of a time fighting it.

Turnout to First Trap Meet
On Saturday, the team and I met up at the best shooting range in Cedar Rapids. The name is Otter Creek. There was a trap shooting meet there which over 14 squads attended. For my practice round I shot a 20/25. Than I had to shoot at the 16 yds, and I shot a 22/25. I was really hoping for perfection there. Than I had to move back to 19 yds. That felt a little easier, but my score says it wasn't. After I emptied out my pockets of empty shells and ran to my girlfriend to grab my new shells, I worked up a bit of a sweat, and with the high moisture in the air and the heat from my head, it fogged over my glasses. So I do lay some blame for my horrible 17/25 on that.
T-shirts previews came in and they will be sending us the box of shirts this Friday. When I get the chance, I will take a picture and put it one here. I hope to see people getting outdoors and enjoying their time. Don't be afraid to pick up a shotgun and shoot some clay.

Trap Shoot'n
So about a month and a half ago, my school started up a trap shooting team. When I heard about this team I thought okay cool I love to shoot and know how to.....so why not? So I went to the first team meeting, and saw that it looked to be fun. I took the trap shooting safty test, passed it on my first try. Than I started getting real into it, helped make shooting times and the place. Than the time came to shoot. We met out at Isac Walten which is a local outdoor club. We didn't have the key to the trap house so we had to throw ourselfs, whic
h is never that bad but we didnt have but 90 clay birds. So we each got 15 shots. That day i shot 12/15, but that was just a meet and shoot just to mingle and talk around. The second day we got to use the trap house and shot competition style. If you dont know whenyou shoot that style, there are 5 rows, 5 shooters, 25 shots each. You start out in one spot and you shoot, than the next 5 shooters shoot, than you go again. And you do that till you go through five shells the puller will say DEAD AND CHANGE, than means you empty your gun, open your chamber and move over to the next spot. Than you do the same thing and you do it till you've shot at all 5 spots.

I felt shameless and down for haveing to fallow by one shot. So on April 1st, we shot again and I again came in 2nd place. But yet I was very happy to say i out shot the last weeks 1st shooter by three shots. But once again, got let down by a guy who shot a 24/25 compaird to my 21/25. I do see improvement and hope I will keep seeing it. We have one more practice before we start publicly competing two wednesdays from now.

BLOGGING
This blog site was created for class, but I do enjoy surfin the net reading other peoples blog including writting my own. Even when I get out of this class, I will be keeping this blog site and keeping it updated to the best of my ability. To me, blogging is a great way to get anything off your mind, especially the stuff you don't want to tell someone face to face, but I have yet to run into the problem. One thing I am starting to realize is that I don't have to stick to one topic, I mean I usually try to blog about someting around that topic or I'll start a blog with that topic, but as you can read in my last entry, I did go off the topic of hunting. I have been trying to go ice fishing but the weather wont deside what it wants to do so it melts the ice than freezes. I was sittin at work last night and one of my co-workers was tellingme she loves to fish, she wants to go ice fishing but none will take her. Of course me being the great guy that I am, I offered to take her, but something tells me by the time shes ready to go, I'll be out on the lake on the boat with 70* weather, but we'll see how that goes.

Slackin on the outdoors
Ok so here's the gig, I got this new job that I really like. I have been working so much, I don't have much time to go do my outdoor hunting and fishing. But, as I work alot my father and brother have got the chance to go ice fishing. Dad and Chris woke up with me yesterday to go ice fishing as I went to school. I got home to hear a wonderful story of how Chris (my brother) cought a 16" large mouth bass. It was said that this fish was so big that when Chris went to pull it out of the hole, the line broke, so Chris stuck his hands in the hole with that ice cold water, and grabbed the bass and held it there as my father broke the sides of the hole to make the hole bigger so he can pull it out. I got to see pictures of this fish and believe me when i tell you. It was a big and beautiful fish.
even though I say I can't fish in the winter, due to my school and working alot. You better believe that when the summer comes, I'll practicaly be living outside, camping with the family and friends, boating on our new 26 ft 2009 tahoe pontoon, tubing, and alot of fishing. The spring and summer is the best time of year in my opinion. Because thats when I can confiterably be outside all day long. My all time favorite thing to do while camping and boating, which every country boys like, which is taking our boat into party cove to party(hense the neame party cove).
One more thing I love about the summer is skeet shooting. I love to shoot with my family but mostly my father. I have still yet to hunt with him unfortiantly, so it's nice to just go and shoot with him. Also, This year at school, starting in March, there will be a trap shooting team and I have been asked to be co-captian which I will happliy take that position and help lead a great shooting team a far way to victory along side my great friend Tanner.
I'v pretty much ran out of things to discuss so i will end this blog. If there are any questions or comments, feel free to leave them down below this blog where it says shots and I will be happy to respond.
THANKS

The Down Days
So here we are, in the middle of winter, the peak of the cold, and also, the point of thickest ice. I have been doing as much ice fishing as I can before I have to renew my liscens. So far my ice fishing expeditions hasn't been all that memerable. But as i always say, it was great to be outdoors. And as of deer hunting, it couldnt have got any worse. Not olny did we not actually tag any deer even though we did hit one. The cold grew stronger and stronger. By the second week of hunting, it got to be -30* with windchill. We weren't out there more than 5 minutes befor loosing feeling in our body. I'd much rather be sitting over the ice without an ice hut. If there were deer in site every now and than, I wouldn't have been so cold, the adrenalin woulda kept me going. Seeing how my outdoor expecditions havnt been so exiting this post cant be as long but I promise to have a good detailed post next time. Thanks
